BOATS

We have two speedboats for our different activities at each time. These boats are long hand-made mentawaian canoes designed by locals for the weather and conditions in the area.

ALL BOATS ARE EQUIPPED WITH:

  • 2 X 40 HP Yamaha engines
  • Anker
  • Icebox for drinks and snacks
  • Surfboard racks
  • Radio
  • emergency lights

THE BEACH

FOR SURE ONE OF THE BEST BEACHES IN THE MENTAWAIS, WHITE SAND SURROUNDS THE WHOLE ISLAND OF BOTIK.

We can walk around the Island in less than an hour. Every corner has a different and breathtaking scenery. Reefs surround about three quarters of the island and they are incredible to explore. Marine life is very rich in the area and just grabbing your snorkeling gear to get out there is for sure a must do, nobody else is around, just us.

We also have two SUP s (Stand Up Paddles) to go for great trips around the calm waters that we have on the resort side of the island. We use them also sometimes to surf some of the mellower waves such as Malibu or Little Nias. They are for our guests to be used at any time with no additional cost.

THE ISLAND

The mentawai chain of islands is fully exposed to the south southwest indian ocean swells.

The mentawai chain of islands is fully exposed to the south southwest indian ocean swells. Travelling thousands of miles, these swells arrive to us very consistently. In the early months of the season (February, March and April), these swells are smaller but very consistent and they start getting stronger as we approach May. The same happens in October and November. Swells get smaller as we hit end of October and beginning of November. Anytime from April to October you can expect very strong swells from South Africa and Antarctica, creating clean waves and dreamed barrels on our beautiful coral reefs.
